WinDEU editor
WinDEU v5.24 is a high quality and fast editor for games based on the old Doom engine. You can learn how to create levels pretty fast but first you have to know the basic elements of the levels and you can find that out in various tutorials.
I have used this editor to create my levels for Doom and also for Heretic.
